At one point or another, you have or will have an experience of failure. No one is exempted from this very discouraging part of life. However, this doesn’t mean you have to succumb to the disheartening effects of failure. It is important that you get back on your feet and learn from the experience. Like in the business arena, there is no escape from failure. One of the realities of having a business is the chance of failure. Almost all successful and thriving businesses today have at least experienced one failed business idea or a fruitless business attempt. Yet, they moved on, cleaned up all the mess, and went for another try.

It might be comforting to know that you are not alone when it comes to business failure. In entrepreneurship, risk is a necessary element. A number of entrepreneurs fear the risk of failure and remain in the sidelines. This leaves plenty of opportunity for those entrepreneurs who are willing to work hard and take the chances. If you are not ready to take the risk of business failure, then better not pursue business at all. Without risks, you will not reap any business reward. So, if you fail on a business idea or your business in general, bounce back.

Bouncing back from failed entrepreneur ideas is always possible. Failing is not the important part here, how you rebound from that failure is what matters most. How you deal with the failed business idea and what you do in order to bounce back will make you who you are as an entrepreneur. It will certainly define your business character and tells you what your future experiences with business failure will be.

If you are trying to overcome a setback made by a failed entrepreneur idea, this article may give you the power to bounce back. Chances are, if you are reading this article, you will start to ask the right questions and begin taking wise suggestions to rebound from failure.

Why Bounce Back from a Failed Business Idea?

Over the years, many entrepreneurs don’t bother to rebound from their failures. They always see failure in its negative aspects and neglect to see the chance to recover towards success. There is always a reason to spring back after an entrepreneurial idea that fall short to invite cashflow and business success.

So, why should you even bother picking up the pieces, dusting off, and trying again?

Success can’t be achieved overnight. If you go into business thinking that you will be reaping the rewards right away, you should think again. It is very rare for an entrepreneur to hit it big time immediately. Most successful businesses have often gone through several failures and setbacks. In business, there is that natural progression of some failures and the possibility to bounce back and keep trying. You can never succeed if you fail to rebound from your failure.

Failure teaches. The best thing about experiencing failure is it is a great learning experience. Most often, you learn more from your failures than your successes. When you fail in a business attempt or a business idea, you should not stop there. Take everything in perspective and use what you’ve learned from the experience when bouncing back. Make use of everything from your failure to improve your business effectiveness and efficiency for future business ventures. When you fail and learn from that experience, you will certainly put yourself a step closer to success. You have to remember “He who fails to learn from mistakes is sure to repeat them.”

Rebounding leads to resiliency. “It is not how many times you fall, but how many times you got up.” When it is time, be willing to risk it again. Failure is a natural phenomenon in business. Yes, you may fail again in your business, but just like as life is full of disappointments, it is also full of opportunities to bounce back. Access the painful part of your previous failure and make it your power to bounce back.

Bouncing back unfolds opportunities for growth. Rebounding from failure will surely develop your business skills and attitude. This is probably one of the most proactive parts of failing and bouncing back. You will even discover new entrepreneurial skills and strategies to help you in your next attempt.

How To Bounce Back From Failure

When you fail, it is not the end of your entrepreneurial journey. Don’t conclude immediately that you are not fit to hold a business and eventually abandon what you worked hard for. You have to bounce back and learn from it so you will be wiser on your next run.

Here are some tips you can use to bounce back from your failed business ideas.

Never deny that it happened. Sometimes, in order to avoid the stigma of failure, you refuse to admit that it happened. If you keep on denying it, you will usually harbor more internal stress and keep delaying doing the necessary measure to remedy the failure.

Don’t make excuses. You wiggle past the truth rather than admitting the failure. You will even, at some point, blame others for your failed business idea and try your best to convince yourself that your setback was not your fault. You need to own your failure before you can actually move on. Yet, never confuse yourself as a failed person because of your failed business idea. Instead of developing a mental pattern of failure, focus more on how to improve and avoid future failures.

Evaluate what led to the failure. Take some time to evaluate what factors lead to the failure of your business idea. Before you actually jump and try again, spend time to understand what caused the failure. Sit down and spend considerable time analyzing what worked and what didn’t. Take a deep dive on every area of that failed business attempt (financial, clients, partners, etc.).

Analyze what you can use for your next attempt. It doesn’t mean that you should scrap all the marketing strategies, contacts, and business leads you used in the previous business idea that didn’t succeed. If they proved to be not the reason why that previous idea failed, then maybe you can use them for your next business venture. Moreover, the people who have met and worked with along the way may become very useful even if you are pursuing another business industry.

Clean up the mess before trying again. During your evaluation, you will surely come across several areas that must be cleaned up before you can proceed to another business attempt. Take for example, your debts right after failure. Anything that ends up on you personally post-venture will definitely show up and affect on your next business venture. Consolidate and renegotiate previous debt.

Explain the failure. If your business is new and the failed idea affects your flagship product or service, you need to explain to investors and important customers about the failure. If the problem originated from manufacturing or marketing, you need to sit down and talk to people who had a hand in these areas. If necessary, you should create a new business plan. Specifically, include how you and your business can make up the lost time. If you dedicate time and effort in explaining to them, you will give them the impression that you are taking your business very seriously.

Get help. One of the tendencies for entrepreneurs is to everything on their own. Unless “whatever you touch becomes gold” (whatever you get into becomes successful right away), you need to find others and services that can help you take care of some aspects of your business. With that, you can focus on the things you do best.

Do it. The difference between those entrepreneurs that have not recovered from a failure from those who have is the simple act of making the bouncing back happen. Don’t let the failure stop you from pursuing your business goals. Take action and successfully bounce back.

The configuration policies of an organization should provide a baseline for device, registry and network settings for every system in the company. This can help determine how secure the systems are and ensure they are used effectively. It isn’t always a simple task, because configuration management can become extremely complex as the organization grows, but there are automated options that can help to streamline the entire process.

Configuration management can be done from a centralized location to control the operating systems and application settings at each end point system. This kind of control can have a large impact on network security and regulatory compliance, but managing it all can be very complex. The IT team must define the configuration tasks, schedule updates for specific systems, and generate reports to ensure that all settings are in line with the company’s standards.

An automated system can remove a lot of the complexities in this system by employing three basic procedures:

Create a library of standardized configuration scripts (instructions for the automation procedures)

Develop consistent scheduling practices to deploy configurations to the necessary systems

Generate reports to validate enforcement of configuration policies

Understanding the Challenges

Using scripting to manage system configurations will likely involve a number of serious challenges. Some common examples include the necessity of incorporating existing third-party scripts into the organization and getting the right configuration policy to the right device. The IT team must also make it easy for people who don’t understand scripting to use these policies to ensure their systems are in alignment with the rest of the company.

Configuration policies must also be enforced on mobile devices and on any system that is in a remote location. Once all of this is done, the IT team must be able to verify the effectiveness of every system with usable reports.

Effective Configuration Policies

Effective configuration management should start with – in the most basic terms – a set of instructions. These can be the scripts that are designed by the IT team or brought in pre-packaged from third parties (taking advantage of these pre-made scripts can save a lot of time and effort for the IT team), and saved in a library of configuration for further use.

Once this library has been created, the IT team can use dynamic policies to control the configuration settings and schedule the necessary deployments. The team can set up dynamic groups to specify which devices receive which configurations, scripts or apps, and set them to deploy when it will not interrupt normal business functions. Whether these groups are defined by the OS, location, or installed apps, though, they must each be able to validate their configuration by reporting back to the administration or IT team.

By taking advantage of these procedures, the IT team can more easily deal with new systems or updates as they become necessary because they can react to events and run defined scripts to make sure the systems quickly meet the company’s configuration standards.

The beginning stages of product development are among the most crucial to any business. This is particularly true if the product in question is a physical one. Before the launch of any new product, a great deal of preparation goes into readying it for the general public. While there’s plenty of trial and error in both the invention and development stages of a product, there needs to be a tangible way of seeing the product in action. Building a working model is among the best ways to test a new product in real-world situations.

Rapid Prototyping & Product Development

For the uninitiated, rapid prototyping refers to a method used in creating a scale model version of a product, or a single part of a product. These rapid prototyping machines and applications rely on the use of 3D CAD data for fabrication purposes. This often allows designers and engineers to create working models of a product very quickly.

The Importance of Working Models

Every major industry has some sort of functional version of a product before its initial launch. The auto industry, for example, makes several working versions of a vehicle or product to test and re-test before unveiling an automobile to the general public. Additionally, computer manufacturers create several working models of new computing devices before they even bother with releasing a beta version of a product. Companies in the developmental stage of a product need to do the same for their products and services. This is crucial for both tangible and intangible products. At the end of the day, a quality product needs to work properly, be safe for general use and be visually attractive to the consumer.

Three Ways a Working Model Aids Product Development

Reduces Trial and Error Situations—In the developmental stage of any product or invention, a certain amount of trial and error is suspected. But a proper working model of a product can go a long way in preventing unnecessary failures in the design, engineering and implementation process.

Improves Product Quality—The quality of any product is only as good as the engineers behind it, and any good engineer knows that all products must be tested constantly. A working model provides a real-life example of how a product functions. Without this real-life environment, product testing is virtually impossible.

Reduces the Likelihood of a Product Recall—The worst thing that could happen after a product launch is a recall. In many cases, recalls can be traced back to inefficient testing procedures.

The Future of Product Development

As has been made perfectly clear in this post, product development is the driving force behind innovation. The future of this practice is all about increasing efficiency in the development stages. In the coming years, we’re likely to see an increased focus on new prototyping techniques as well as more collaborative engineering processes. This will even include cooperative design with the customer involved in the process. In other words, the future is bright, but not without its own set of challenges.

The big problem with many of today’s companies is that innovation is not only expected, there is a lot of pressure from customers to deliver innovation quickly. Good ideas are simply not enough. A system needs to be put into place that ensures quality products are being developed and released quickly. This is among the biggest challenges facing modern businesses. The creation of prototypes for new products requires speed and creativity. The hope is that new technology will officially marry these two aspects of product development in a seamless way.

As an entrepreneur, you are very aware of the delicate balancing act that goes into having every internal aspect of your business under control. Most entrepreneurs know that organization is very important in running a business. Upon starting their venture in the business world, most entrepreneurs are very keen in organizing. However, in the long run, getting organized and staying that way will eventually be kept back or left behind. They will concentrate more in closing sales and gaining revenue. Recent reports and surveys reveal that many small business owners tend to struggle in organizing their business and staying that way. Although many entrepreneurs believe that their business will improve with better organization, they admit that getting organized is one of the many important business tasks that they loathe.

Yet, it is still noteworthy to stress out that getting organized is not easy said and done. Although it is deemed important to organize, managing all aspects in a business may not always be that simple and trouble-free.

Now, you may ask these questions: What is the importance of organization in your business? How can it help you gain leverage and earn success? Are there simple tips to start organizing your business? Where do you start organizing your business?

Organized Small Business: How Significant Is Getting Organized?

Imagine the embarrassment when you failed to prepare for an important meeting, the frustration when you can’t find important documents and files, the disappointment when you overlooked an important appointment to a potential client, or the dismay when you forgot to pay utility bills on time. These are just some of the hassles you can encounter when you are disorganized in your business. You may consider these as unfortunate yet rare business troubles at first. But when these become habitual, you are definitely bound to fail and lose your hard-earned business.

I believe you have at least once told yourself that you, your business, and your employees can work efficiently and productively with better organization. In the business world, every second counts and time is considered as money. When you are an organized entrepreneur, every second that you work quickly and efficiently will count towards your aim to be successful. This will simply mean that the more organized you are, the more efficient and productive you will be. Better organization equals more time to work effectively and earn more money. It is as simple and as important as that.

Your marketing expertise and PR skills will be of no use at all when you fail to organize every aspect of your business. If you are organized, you can run your business smoothly. This will be evident on your profits or revenue. Organization should start with you as the owner. Eventually, your employees will learn how to organize well and in the end will benefit your customers.

Better organization in the office and in your business as a whole will keep you on track from your initial client to the sale of your product or service. You will find your business booming when you are organized instead of plummeting as you spend countless precious moments running around in circles trying to whip out your office into shape.

Organized Small Business: Tips To Get Organized

Many entrepreneurs have the strong desire to get and stay organized but they lack the discipline. They usually rely on complex methods and complicated planners to organize every aspect of their business yet end up not doing anything to better their organization. Moreover, most entrepreneurs don’t even know how and where to start.

Here are some of the tips to help you keep your small business organized. These simple tips will not only relieve your stress, but also assist you to stay profitable.

Gather and Keep All Vital Business Files Organized.

Maintain an electronic filing system. Today, most business rely much on computers, computer applications and software, and other computer resources to keep their business records and files. You need to create and maintain a filing system to keep your important business documents, images and work files. Aside from storage, an electronic filing system will make it easy for you to locate documents and files when you need them.

In your filing system, you need to organize your work files in separate folders. You can create folders for your personal information, business plans, sales, marketing and advertising, financial information, inventories, design logos and themes, legal documents, and human resources. You must also make individual folders for every product you manufacture or service you offer.

A smart entrepreneur keeping an electronic filing system is wiser when he keeps a back up of your important files. So, make sure you do.

De-clutter your storage space. Instead of wasting your precious time in looking for important business items through cluttered storage spaces, you should spend considerable time and effort to keep these storage spaces organized. Being busy is not a very good excuse for entrepreneurs to just stuff things in their cabinets and closets to keep them out of sight. If the time comes when they need those things, they will be so stressed out just looking through those crammed storage spaces. Shelves, cabinets, and closet should be properly labelled. Make sure you store things in their proper storage spaces and misplaced things should be returned to correct storage spaces as soon as they are discovered.

Manage Paperwork. Any business will surely deal with a lot of paperwork. From catalogs to emails, from memos to bills, all these important documents will end up in a big pile. You need to get a control over important paperwork. Just like how electronic files are stored in an electronic filing system, you need to designate filing cabinets and closets for your paperwork.

Set Goals For Yourself.

Define your goals and plans. A conscious awareness of your business’ vision and objectives will keep you on track. When you have clearly defined goals and aims, you will always stay focused and avoid projects and activities that are not in agreement with your business plans and goals. Make sure to write your goals so you can evaluate them regularly.

Set goals that are SMART. S= Specific, M= Measurable, A= Achievable, R= Rewarding, and T= Timely.

Look ahead and plan accordingly. With your business goals, you need to have the activities (meetings, conferences, seminars, expos, etc.) that will help you achieve them. Create a To Do list and calendar your weekly activities. Start planning today and not tomorrow. Review your To Do list daily and remove all those activities that you have already accomplished. Your calendar will be your reference for future business activities.

Without planning and scheduling, many small businesses fail because they didn’t spent time, effort, and thought to achieve their objectives.

Motivate Your Employees.

Treat your employees as your equal. They are your company’s source of creativity and productivity. These are the people that can make or break your business. Encourage them to keep their own To Do list and calendars to always remind them of your company objectives, their routine tasks, and future business activities.

In the small business world, organization can be a difference between success and insanity. Getting all your business stuff and things organized will keep you sane and focused on your goals. Use these tips to start your drive towards better organization. Staying organized will help you stay consistent throughout your business which can be reflected on your increasing profit and satisfied customers.

Processing payroll can be time consuming, and paying for an enterprise solution can be prohibitively costly for small business enterprises. Cutting costs and overhead is important, but not at the expense of workflow. If small businesses sacrifice product in order to achieve a bottom line, they’ll be left with neither. Hard choices are a necessity in a down economy. Online payroll solutions that combine flexibility, low overhead and an intuitive interface can help you meet your payroll needs without struggling.

Payroll Software Functions
What can you expect from an online payroll provider? The exact features vary by service provider, but you can look for automated payroll calculations, employee tax amounts, an easy way to allocate employee funds to employee savings accounts, project cost reporting, job cost reporting, withholding calculations, direct deposits, automated check writing and end-of-year tax forms, including W-2s and 1099s. Some payroll systems allow employees to log on and view sick time, personal time, vacation days, unpaid leave and other payroll-related benefits services.

These basic functions give small business providers everything they need to calculate employee benefits, employee tax information, project reporting information and tax and other financial data. Calculate salary rates, adjust for employee raises or calculations, make payments online and ensure that you’re meeting federal tax compliance standards with a few clicks.

Advantages of Going Online
Switching to an online payroll system can save you time and money, as well as help you avoid fines for late invoices, past due payments, and other fines. When you switch to an online system, you streamline all of your regular expenses, legal and regulatory responsibilities in one system. Set reminders for payments or configure automatic payments, and then devote less time on a day-to-day basis to business accounting. Automating payroll procedures gives you more time to devote to other tasks. You can track payments in the online interface so you know when money is going out.

The cost of small business payroll solutions varies by exact service. Even if a system has a high cost initially, it’s a one-time expense that more than pays for itself over time. Small businesses may not have the budget to hire a CPA or an accountant, but an online payroll system gives anyone the means to perform complicated accounting tasks with a few simple clicks. You don’t have to be a bookkeeper to do this. Because the system automates procedures, there’s less of a chance for you to make errors in tax processing, payments or other processes. This also translates to time savings because you’ll do things right the first time.

Choosing a System
The online payroll market is crowded, so you’ll have lots of choice when considering a small business payroll product. It is wise to consider whether the online payroll product integrates with any other accounting software you use in your business, as well as the help and support options. Look for a payroll system that gives you telephone, chat, or email help at hours that are convenient for you.

Price is also a factor, of course. Examine what options are available at different price points, and think about what core features you need. Be realistic about your current needs, as well as direction of growth. If you don’t need a feature today but anticipate using it within six months, purchase more than you need in order to have the ability to expand in the future. Look over a product’s website to see what customer support is available and whether a system has user reviews or testimonials from satisfied clients.

Automating payroll services can give you the peace of mind you need to know that payments for goods and services as well as tax payments are taken care of, leaving you the time you need to concentrate on running your company and doing what you love. Online payroll systems come with different packaging options, making them affordable accounting solutions for all different types of small businesses.

Writing for business marketing is different from other forms of creative writing. When you are writing for business, you always have a sales goal in mind. Anything you do while marketing for business directly or indirectly leads to sales. The term copywriting has been coined for such writings that encourage the reader to take some action that benefits the business. This action need not be a sale but a subscription, participation in a contest, download a free tool etc. What to keep in mind while writing for business?

Be to the Point and Updated

There is no dearth of writers and online content today and every Internet user has a huge variety to choose from. If they subscribe to your content, it has to be good enough to keep them engaged for a long time. Make sure you are up-to-date with the industry news and do not talk about outdated subjects. This helps build trust in the subscribers and they know they are reading from the best in the industry. Keep your sentences short, language simple and be relatable. Writing for business does not mean that you fill up your communication with technical jargon. Always have to reader in mind and write what he can read and understand.

Learn How to Write Killer Headlines

Experts say that the headlines take one-fourth of the entire writing effort. Headline is that part of your writing that has the power to attract the user and compel him to read the entire piece. Killer headlines are those which make the reader curious and give him the feeling that the writing has what he was looking for. When you are writing for business, you create headlines that are connected to the benefits your product will provide. Remember to focus on the benefits, not just the features because the readers can relate to the benefits.

Look at some of the most popular headlines. Whether online on in print, they need to have an appeal for the article to be read. Writing good headlines need skill and practice. Knowing the very fact that headlines are powerful sellers will improve your headlines.

Research Your Keywords Well

Keywords are the words or phrases used by an Internet user to search for content. Most people today use search engines to find out the information they need on the web. Search engines then present before them the relevant data from their database. Your web page will be considered relevant by Google only if you use the keywords that most people search that are relevant to your industry.

Google itself offers a free keyword research tool and there are many others using which you can find out the number of searches made for a particular keyword, the competition, the difficulty level etc. It also suggests more keywords related to your search. Using a good keyword research tool and then selecting the right keywords is very important for a business writer. Only if you write about what people are looking for, you can attract them to you.

Writing for business is an ever changing and always learning process. The market keeps changing and you need to change with the changing times. But the tips shared above are time tested and universal.

So your hosting automatically updated your web account to the latest version of php, version 5.3. You may not have wanted this, but now you are stuck with it. What has it done to your site? Well your content produced by Joomla’s com_content component now doesn’t display. This basically means all of the content on your site is no longer visible. Bummer!

Hosting Automatically Updated to PHP 5.3

If you do happen to have your Joomla website hosting migrated (which all hosting eventually will be) do not fret, there is an option for you. There is a simple workaround prepared by Alex that will get you through this temporary loss of data display.

Open /includes/Cache/Lite/Function.php and replace at line 74:

$arguments = func_get_args();

with:

$arguments = func_get_args();

$numargs = func_num_args();

for($i=1; $i < $numargs; $i++){

$arguments[$i] = &$arguments[$i];

}

This solution will resolve your major issue of site content not being displayed. From there, it is a matter of checking all of your other custom components to ensure they have not been broken during the upgrade as well.

Upgrade Your Joomla 1.0 Site

At some point, however, you will want to make sure your site gets updated to the latest and greatest version. Not only have many new advanced features been incorporated into the latest Joomla versions, but you are of course ensuring the your website does not have any open security holes.

You may have discovered that many places discuss that you can theme your drupal 7 template per node type by simply creating the template file:

page–[node-type].tpl.php

However, this is not avaialable in the current release of drupal 7 without adding a pre-processing hook to your template.php theme file. In order to have this work, you must include something along the lines of:

function themeName_preprocess_page(&$vars, $hook) {
if (isset($vars['node'])) {
// If the node type is "blog" the template suggestion will be "page--blog.tpl.php".
$vars['theme_hook_suggestions'][] = 'page__'. str_replace('_', '--', $vars['node']->type);
}
}

You can then go about customizing your theme pages as desired by creating the before-mentioned tpl.php files.

So your small, work-from-home business has really taken off, but now you are interested in cutting back on your expenses to maximize your profits. Whether you want to save money to re-invest in your business in the future, or if you simply want to use the extra cash to contribute to your local community, take a look at these helpful tips for saving money in your small business.

Business Credit Cards

Try consolidating all of your outgoing business expenses into a single, easily tracked business credit card account. Credit card companies like to compete for your business, which is why many cards offer cash back rewards of as much as five percent. If you have a business that requires a lot of transportation expenses, consider a card that rewards you with airline miles or fuel discounts at certain gas stations.

As an added benefit, business credit cards can help you cut down on the time you spend tracking your expenses and balancing the business checkbook. By logging onto your credit card online account, you can easily see how your company is managing money, and where there may be excess spending. Also, although it is best to pay off your business credit card account each month, if you do carry a balance over from month to month, the interest you accrue on business expenses are fully tax deductible.

Online Coupons

Coupons are not reserved only for stay-at-home moms who need extra spending money. Instead, coupons and discounts can give your business a significant financial boost when used on a regular basis. For example, websites like Groupon and LivingSocial may offer online coupon discounts on local oil changes and tire rotations for company vehicles. Also, there is no shame in finding coupons or taking advantage of daily specials for local restaurants. Even if your business lunches are tax deductible, who says you have to spend an arm and a leg on them?

Re-Evaluate Your Marketing Strategy

If you are like many businesses, your marketing expenses may require one of the greatest portions of your overall business budget. To cut costs without losing business, consider re-evaluating your marketing strategy. Instead of spending a lot of money advertising in outdated media, such as phone books and television commercials, consider boosting the organic traffic your business gets by improving your website for better search engine rankings, or offering an in-house referral program for your existing customer base. You may see an increase in traffic without spending as much money to get new customer business.

Go Digital

Try to eliminate as much paperwork and printing costs as possible by using email instead of traditional mail. Think of the savings you can accrue without purchasing stamps, envelopes, ink cartridges, filing cabinets and paper. Furthermore, paying bills and corresponding with customers and vendors electronically is quickly becoming preferred over traditional ways of communicating. You may even be able to reduce your travel expenses by using Internet meetings via Skype or similar programs, rather than meet with potential vendors, clients or employees in person.

Eliminate Unnecessary Inventories

Evaluate your business inventories to determine which items are most profitable for your business, and which ones are not as necessary. Focus your inventory on items that sell or are most essential to your business, and stop buying items that do not move as quickly. The reduction in inventory will reduce your overhead costs, meaning more money in your pocket — and ultimately more to invest.

What is in store for the future of SEO and SEO professionals? This has always been a provocative question that many could not possibly answer straightaway. But many of those who have been using the functions and benefits of SEO say that it will certainly have a future. But they say the future of SEO is changing dramatically. Now, there are a lot of interesting discussions and conversations online about what the future of SEO will be like and what it has in store for us in the coming years. In 2010 and 2011, Google’s Panda Update brought about significant difficulties among website administrators, online entrepreneurs, and SEO professionals. Although many of them have survived, they will certainly not have an easy time this year. SEO will prove to be a tougher business in 2012.

Since Google has been a dominating search engine and trendsetter affecting SEO activities, an SEO professional will definitely face a great challenge as there will be old and out-dated SEO techniques that will become obsolete going forward. You need to remember there is always that chance even the best websites will easily be knocked-out no matter how good they were performing in the past years.

Since SEO will rapidly and completely change in the coming years, you have to stay on top of these changes if you expect to gain positive SEO impact to both you and your business. Now more than ever, you need to treat SEO like a process. Your target is always moving and your success in SEO is a gauge on your ongoing efforts. You cannot simply just write a plan and implement it the next day. Reaching your target market and closing sales with the help of SEO and internet marketing tools are harder now. Yet, it is highly important that your business get found no matter what it takes online.

Many SEO experts see SEO’s future focused on change, convergence and collaboration. The many future changes in Google will be the primary catalyst to convergence and collaboration in the SEO world. Whether you like it or not, SEO has changed and its future will rely upon a complicated relationship between content marketing, social media, and collaborative technology. The outcome will be newer roles in the SEO landscape, new ways of thinking about SEO utilization, and newer SEO strategies.

SEO Future: Changes to the idea of Rankings

One of the changes you can expect in SEO’s future has something to do with rankings. Traditionally, search engine ranking has been considered as one of the core components when people do SEO. Rankings are what SEO professionals actually report to their clients. However, the significance of rankings today is not the same as it was a few years ago.

Many SEO experts believe that the rank checking world will become unpredictable. Ranking results are already different from location to location, so while reports may show that a company is ranking well on some location search results while other locations will not report the same results. The forecast of SEO experts with rankings is it will going to become less predictable. Unlike before, ranking will become (or has already become) less significant of a metric. Now, instead of just focusing too much on rankings, you have to shift your attention to users who commit desired activity on your website. SEO experts may soon be required to deliver not only rankings, but actual results for clients.

Increasing your targeted organic traffic instead of focusing too much on your rank will ultimately result in the best results for delivering a return on your SEO investment. This has been one of the newest and biggest changes in the world of SEO today. Yet, although it is evident, there are still a lot of resistance mainly because many don’t want it to be considered true. Rank checking will become less of a health indicator for clients that want to know how well their SEO is working. It is no longer an effort of an SEO just to gain the highest amount of visitors, but to rather drive the highest amount of quality visitors. So even though you website may be receiving less hits and traffic, you could still see increase in sales or revenue based on the ability to target the right audience.

SEO Future: Link Building and Social Media Necessities

The evolution of link building from its basics can also be expected in the future of SEO. With all of what Google has been doing especially with their changes, link building also evolved. Gone were the early days of link building where you can just build a link anywhere you can get it. Search engines have evolved to intelligently determine the connection between linked sites and whether or not they are relevant links. Maybe, you believed that you have succeeded to gain high rankings regardless of a link profile that’s stuffed with profile links and paid links from spam sites. Yet, this is just temporary and will definitely be a short-lived success. It is better to concentrate on attaining the good quality, relevant links that will stand the test of time.

Social media links are beginning to play a more significant role in determining which websites offer the most value to the visitors. As Google sees a site getting more and more attention over social media, the authority of the website will continue to grow with the context of the social media messages. Likewise, as Google notices negative user responses on social media, it will trigger a negative reaction to google’s rank listings. Getting users to like your website and share that message with others via social media has become a sure fire way to keep your site’s rankings growing.

SEO Future: Speed and User Experience

Gone are the days when you can simply host your website on any old webserver and expect to compete with high quality and cross-distributed websites. Google has already put forth efforts to incorporate the page speed of a website into search rankings. As getting higher results becomes more and more important for your company, be prepared to up your hosting plans and optimize your page speed so that your website speed is as quick as it can possibly be.

If users are experiencing slow page loads on your website, be prepared for negative hits from social media. If a user has clicked on a page link from Google that is heading to your website, but the page takes too long to load, the user may ultimately turn back to Google to find the next page result and may even tell Google not to display results from your website again. Those types of actions will trigger Google to make your less important in their eyes.

SEO Future: Convergence & Collaboration

SEO professionals and companies, alike, should learn how to adapt and benefit from the several different types of up and coming technology that can advance the world of SEO.

Since the later part for 2012 when Google announced that social signals were being used as a ranking factor, convergence between technical SEO and social media (not to mention, content marketing as well) has been established. It is likely that social signals will have an importance in the future activities in the world of SEO as there are no signs that shows slowing down in terms of activity on popular social networking sites. As the role of SEO develops and converges with social media, there will also be changes in the SEO’s technology landscape.

Because we have already established the changes that will take place in the future of the SEO environment, the focus on convergence with content marketing and social signals will somehow lead to foster the need to collaboration.

In the future, an SEO professional will welcome reinvention of SEO (not resist the opportunity to reinvent) by closely collaborating with industry peers across content, social, PR, and digital media channels.

The bottom-line

SEO will become more technical. Search engines (Google) will push sites with the most relevant content and will get fooled less and less by keyword stuffing, doorway pages, and handful of backlinks. Now is the good time to talk about how to better your SEO activities to keep up with the changes that has happened and is currently happening, as well as to the ones yet to come.
